Russia is among the world’s largest satellite launchers and has completed the GLONASS Satellite navigation system.   It has developed Jet Fighter (Sukhoi Su-57) and has built the world’s first floating nuclear power plant.  Russia celebrates its Independence day on 12^th June every year.  Its population is around 146.17* million in the year 2022.  The four most spoken languages in the country are Indo-European, Slavic, East Slavic, Balto-Slavic.

Russia is very famous for Vodka, known as Stoli which is prepared in the country’s oldest distilleries located in the Samara and Kaliningrad regions.

 Alenka Russian chocolate is very famous.  Also the Borscht – a soup based on meat stock, added vegetables served with sour cream, Okroshka – the cold soup made from chopped vegetables and cooked meat served with Smetana, Kamchatka Crab which is classed for its delicacy,  Pelmeni – a traditional dish of dumplings made by minced meat,  Blini – little pancakes, served with black or red caviar, Sirniki – fried pancakes traditionally made and served with jam, honey, apple sauce, Black Sea Barabulka – known as red mullet, , Kvass – a traditional Slavic and Baltic beverage, are some Not To Be Missed foods of the region.    

Here you can find the most expensive Russian Nesting Dolls which are wholly unique.  The country is also famous for Artisanal amber jewellery Tatyana.   

Wedding ring shawls including the Orenburg area of Russia as well as the Shetland Isles have a tradition of “wedding ring shawls” which are handspun, hand knit shawls so fine that they can be passed through a wedding ring.  In Shetland, the yarn would have been spun from Shetland sheep wool
