Medical Advisory for travel to Ladakh: We strongly recommend a medical check-up – for issues related to blood pressure, Asthma, hypertension and cardiovascular issues, prior to your visit. In order to acclimatize with the higher altitude, we advise a dosage of Diamox capsule (250 mg) twice a day at least 2 days prior to travelling as per prescribed dosage by your physicist. It is not advisable for individuals with asthma or infants to travel without consulting a doctor beforehand. If you reach Leh by air, stay that day and do not plan to go anywhere for that day, as you will need a minimum day to acclimatize yourself. Drink plenty of fluids (that does not include alcohol), do not move much for the first one or two days.
